Introduction to Biblical Counselling
In Romans 15:14 the Apostle Paul makes it clear that the Believers in Rome were competent to counsel one another.
If you have ever offered advice, given your opinion to someone else or sought to help a family member, friend or neighbour navigate some of the difficult challenges we all face in life, then odds are you have been counseling. The truth is, most of us counsel one another simply as a normal part of life. However, is the counsel we offer to one another, good counsel?
Even Christians with good intentions regularly give terrible counsel and confusing advice simply because they did not understand how to apply biblical principles to real-world challenges and difficulties.
We are starting a training course on Sunday afternoons whose goals include equipping believers to better counsel themselves and others from Scripture. Using Paul David Tripp's excellent book and workbook called: "Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands," one of our elders will be showing how "people in need of change can help people in need of change" for the glory of God. This class is for everyone who wants to improve their obedience to and application of Scripture in their lives.
This class starts this Sunday, 20 September and runs twice a month until early December. The cost of book and workbook are £20.
